A downloadable experience for Windows

A trip back down Spoon River is a short interactive experience I developed, based on Edgar Lee Masters' Spoon River Anthology, a series of poems. The experience, as well as the poems, explore the memories of the deceased residents of the small town of Spoon River.

I built this experience in Unity from scratch over the course of a couple of months. All 3D assets, shaders, scripts and most 2D assets were made by me. I used Blender for modelling, Substance Painter and Designer for texturing, as well as the Adobe suite for graphic design.

I am an (aspiring) 3D artist, not a programmer, game designer or literature expert, so this is more of a portfolio piece rather than a game with widespread appeal. However, I'll be very happy if you enjoy it for what it is!

More info, such as screens, assets and interactive models on my ArtStation page or portfolio:

Thank you for trying it out!

Hi there! This is fantastic!!!!!

Let me present myself. I am currently finishing my studies at game development and my thesis will be a horror game.

I would like to know if these assets are available somewhere and if they have an affordable cost.

Thanks for reading! Great job with this asset.

Hi, thanks for writing! The project files are not currently available, but I can put them up for sale on the Asset Store if you're interested. I'll let you know when they become available.

Hi!
That would be fantastic. Please let me know when they become available.

Thanks!

Just to update you, I have submitted the package for review. As I hadn't made this scene to be distributed, I had to take some time to prepare it. Just letting you know that there will be more of a wait and I can't guarantee it'll be accepted. Even if it is accepted, don't feel like I'm pressuring you into buying it, you're free to change your mind at any time.

That's great, there's no hurry at all.

Please let me know when they are published.
Do you have any price in mind yet? Just to know.
I hope you clould sell lots of copies, there are not many assets like that on the asset store.

Thanks a lot!

Hey there, an update: the package was rejected. It would take too long for me to adapt every asset to the store's guidelines, so I'll give up, sorry. It's something I would have had to do back when I started. Thanks for your interest anyway!

Was it approved? What happened? I'm also interested.

Thanks for your interest; as reported, I had submitted it for review, but I haven't heard anything since. It is supposedly still in queue and pending review, I have kinda given up on getting it approved. If I hear back, I will let everyone who expressed interest know.

This is beautiful! How long did it take to make?

Thank you! I made it in about two months

that's insane! Do you have plans for making games in other genres too?

Not at the moment, at least not by myself. I'm working on other projects as a 3D artist and I'd like to continue down that path

cool! If you ever wanna collab feel free to reach out 😁

Hiii, I've made a video about the game and wanted to share some feedback about it, hopefully it is useful to you :D

-The main concept and the relation established between the objects and text with the way the game reflects the progress is really well done and pretty well thought as well.

-Pretty awesome visual style and in general an awesome work in relation to level design, illumination, etc. BUT you should take care of the way some of the objects are placed/ the colours the have because, as you could see on the video, sometimes I was moving close to some objects without noticing them easily/at all.

-The gameplay mechanics are pretty straight forward and easy to get into making the player get focused on the most important parts of the game.

-After reading the "game description" you wrote the only thing I could say being realistc is that you aced it, I would love to see you making some walking simulator games because you are pretty good at this ^^

Hopefully this is useful to you :D, also if you could subscribe that would help me a lot :)

Regards

Thank you for trying it and for the detailed feedback! It's very helpful.

You are welcome ^^

Very intriguing game, I am surprise by how these people died.

Thank you so much for trying it out!
